Day 311

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!

I know some of you are only watching tonight's tv festivities for the commercials (which I always forget to watch) and others of you are in it for the game. I am one of the game watchers...hoping for a Manning/Giants win in Indy! :) If it can't be Peyton, at least it can be his baby bro! ha

Today I drove back home from my weekend in Indy. I have done laundry. I've unpacked my bags. I cleaned out my car, which was sorely needed! I got my blog updated from the weekend's events. I have spent a lot of time playing with Toby. He has been quite rambunctious today! Tonight I'm enjoying a glass of wine while watching the Super Bowl. Just hoping I don't fall asleep because I'm already exhausted as it is! ha

Day 310

Losing weight means constantly replacing my wardrobe. It's an expensive part of the weight loss process, but one I am loving. I have NEVER been a shopper. Mostly because it's a real pain to find cute clothes, let alone clothes that fit, when you are overweight. Saturday afternoon, I went shopping and found some great buys to add to my wardrobe/replace things that are worn out and too big. It was pretty exciting! I can foresee that this new joy for shopping is going to be a major hindrance on my bank account. haha ;)

Jenna and I also made the trek to West LaLa for the Purdue vs Indiana basketball game. It was a disappointing loss. Another in which the refs pretty much handed to us on a silver platter. I mean, can we not get one good ref crew?!? ARGH! It's so frustrating to be playing on your home court and watch every call go for the other team. Even some of the IU fans seated around us couldn't argue the bad calls made against Purdue. Oh well. It's even more of a bitter loss because the two schools are mortal enemies. No seriously. It's one of the biggest rivals in all of college sports. Look it up! :p

Day 309

Where, oh where do I begin with the fun of my Friday?!?! :)

I just have to say that the word of the day was AWESOME. Thinking about Friday still makes me smile! It will probably make me laugh for some time to come. And whenever anyone asks about the adventures of Friday, my sis and I both reply with...it was AWESOME! hahaha

So, as most of you will remember, I was working hard to get down to 260 pounds before Friday. I fell shy of my goal, I ended up at 264, but still very proud of myself. I had tickets to do the Super Bowl Zipline Friday night and they had a weight limit of 275. I wanted to be on the safe side of that number, especially since they weighed you as the first step in the process! Luckily, with shoes, coat, gloves, winter wear, a camera, phone, etc strapped onto myself...I only weighed in at 267. something! Whew. :) On a side note, I always blame my shoes and accessories at the doc's office for my weight (in the past), but can't really do that anymore! ha So after waiting in line, being weighed, signing the consent waiver, getting harnessed, donning an oh-so-cute helmet, and hiking up 14 flights of stairs....we made it to the summit of the zipline tower! From there it was a short chat with the adorable Aussie guy who hooked me up to the zipline (and calmed lingering nerves) before I took a deep breath and plunged down the 800 foot zipline over the massive crowd on Capital Street in downtown Indy/Super Bowl Village! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It was freakin' amazing!!! No words to describe the adrenaline high after it was done! It was a short ride and I would have loved to have gone again. haha So thankful to my sister for buying the ticket for me as a Christmas gift (because they were sold out EVERY day) and for our friends, Reid & Nicole, being there to cheer us on from the ground. Here's some pictures and links to videos of our adventures!

so much fun to go back at night & see everything lit up!

 my ticket!!

oh yeah...forgot to mention...I won a $100 gift certificate to my fave Indy brewhouse by wearing their gear on the zipline & tweeting my pic! woohoo!! (my sis got one too!)

5QF - 2/3

Happy February everyone! I can't believe we're already into the second month of the year! Time has been flying by...I don't think I want it to slow down, but I also can't seem to get caught up. ha

I lost 0.2 pounds this week! Disappointed that it wasn't more and that I am 4 pounds shy of my goal, but I gave it a good effort!

And now for some 5QF fun...one of the questions came from me. :)

- - -

1. What have you done recently that you are proud of?

hmmm...my most recent accomplishment that I am proud of would definitely be having earned the Scentsy Incentive trip to the Hard Rock Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I am sooo excited!! It's an all-inclusive, one week trip in June. I can't wait to take one of my family members!

2. What is your favorite way to work out? Or if you don't workout, what are you wanting to try?

I love to run on the treadmill and feel like my legs can't possibly take another minute and still be able to pull it out. I like tough workouts that make you sweat your ass off and you leave feeling exhausted. I still really want to try Zumba and pilates or yoga. My cousin is working to become a certified Spin Instructor and I'm sure that would kill me, but I would still like to try it.

3. If you knew your best friend was cheating on their spouse, would you tell?

I would think so, but that is a loaded question with so many weird scenarios that could play out. As the child of divorced parents (one who cheated), I have a lot to say on this topic and most of it is not good.

4. If you could afford a live-in maid or nanny, would you have one?

A maid would be great! Seriously, I hate dusting and I have to do it all the time because of allergies. I like things super clean and it would be great to not think about it, but just have someone come take care of it for me. Oh to dream.... ;)

5. Do you stress out about birthdays (specifically the age) or do you enjoy them?

I love birthdays! Well, maybe not LOVE, but I don't mind them. Age is just a number...and yes, I'm saying that even as I approach my 30th birthday. haha I have a lot of friends who have freaked out about it and I'm trying to plan something fun for my friends to do!

Day 308

Thursday is always a good day because it means the week is almost over! ha To make this Thursday even better, it was a beautiful, sunny day!

Much like the Groundhog...I saw my shadow ;)

And because it was so warm with the sun, my new travel tin in the car (Black Raspberry Vanilla) smelled so freakin' good!!! If you don't have one in your car, you gotta get one! www.savorthescent.com

Day 307

I got my car back!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! After work, I went to pick up my fixed car. Remember the truck hitch incident?!? ugh.

I also went on a date Wednesday night. It felt good just to make it thru the first date after being stood up by the last 2 guys I attempted that with.... ha He's a good guy from what I know so far and we definitely click. Who knows what will happen, but it's fun to date again!

Day 306

On Tuesday I was so excited to have a surprise envelope in the mail...from my Scentsy Super Star Director. Tracy is forever sending me little notes of encouragement and I am so thankful for her! Since I officially have a team, she sent me a note about leadership and included the Scented Bliss (her downline's name) bracelet! :)
