Confession

I have a confession to make....I am not very exciting. Like, barely at all.

Everyone is posting all these fun 4th of July posts and I have nothing to share. Nada. Wanna know why? Well, let me tell you.

I had to work. Yep, you read that right. We were originally scheduled to work 4 - 10 hour days (M, Tu, Th, F). On Tuesday, a few pains in my side at work decided to complain about a day off in the middle of the week. Yeah, no shit Dick Tracy. Just about every local place did the same schedule. Brilliant time to change your minds that you don't like it. They convinced the boss man to change the schedule (I was the only person opposed to it...not really, it's just that they harped on the 1 other person until he relented). So instead of enjoying a day at home relaxing with my mom and boyfriend, I had to sit at work...bored to tears. I actually almost fell asleep at my desk in the afternoon. I wish I were kidding, but falling forward towards my desk woke me up. *shaking my head* I was not exactly the nicest person yesterday. Can you blame me?? So now I have Friday off, but guess what...my loved ones will be at work! What a bunch of crapola. And yes, I did tell off the 2 people who started the griping and got the boss to change the schedule. It did make me feel slightly better. ha

Last night I left job #1 and stopped to pick up AxMan at his place. He went with me so I could do payroll at job #2. (I had a dentist appointment Monday night when I would have normally done it and Tuesday we had other plans as well...oh and I kinda forgot! ha) After finishing up there, I rode with him to go collect money from a side job he'd done. He loves landscaping and he trimmed hedges for a lady who always has him do it every year. On the way back home, he decided that he didn't feel like eating in, so he took me out to dinner. And yes, sadly that is only like our 3rd official date out somewhere. haha I introduced him to a local restaurant that my family loves (some family friends own it), Crossroads, and he liked it as well! Not many places left in the world where you can go eat big, hearty, homemade meals for $17 for 2 people.

We went back to his apartment and he decided to put away a few more boxes of stuff that he had started on earlier in the day while I was at work. I promptly fell asleep on the loveseat. For 2 hours. hahahaha Seriously. I'm a terrible date. He took me out to dinner and to thank him, I fell asleep on his couch while he cleaned. Ummmm...jeez. We won't be winning any awards for most exciting couple anytime soon! ;)

So although my holiday didn't start out too great (getting up at 4:30am to be at work by 6 is less than thrilling and obviously quite exhausting), it ended pretty great...including a late night bowl of ice cream. :p

And now I'm enjoying another lovely and boring day at work. Thankfully it's the last one of the week! 5.5 hours left to go...... #countdown

A Busy Life

I know I keep saying it, but honestly I can't seem to stay ahead of the game! The days are flying by are warp speed.

It feels a bit like this...

...but I'm trying to remember this...

My days are spent huddled over my computer at work. As soon as I leave work, there seems to be an endless list of things to do. I've been busy!! I love a busy life, but it's been awhile since I've been THIS busy. ha As I approach my 30's, I'm learning that I cannot go go go like before! I am not getting as much sleep, but I hope to remedy that next week when I am here! My evenings have been spent trying to get ready for the upcoming trip, spending time with AxMan (and his girls when he has them), doing stuff around the house, and helping my Scentsy team. Craziness.

On another note, if you'd like a cute (and fun) read...I grabbed the first one for free on the Amazon Kindle Books Bestsellers list and bought the second one after reading the first.

5QF - 6/8

Friday again...where oh where has the time gone? If you've been reading my blog, you know that last weekend was quite busy and amazingly good! This week I have spent every evening except for last night with AxMan. Quality time is so important to me...and we've been fortunate to have lots of it this week. We've settled in on the couch, watched tv, talked about anything and everything, had dinner together, and just enjoyed our time together. We have plans to spend pretty much the entire weekend together and both of us are pretty darn excited about that! ha I'm sure I'll have some updates after the weekend. :)

I'm excited to say that I've lost another 1.2 pounds! Loving this healthy lifestyle. So excited to continue shedding the pounds. I was looking through some old pictures with AxMan this week and he was amazed at how much I've lost. He's lost quite a bit over the past 5 months as well. He doesn't have to workout though, he burns a ton of calories on the job everyday! ha

Last week I was too busy to play along with 5QF even though one of the questions was mine! Bummer. :( This week, one of the questions is again mine...hope you'll link up!

- - -

1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did your parents do anything special for you?

No kids and don't remember my parents/grandparents doing anything special for us as kids. I think we did the typical "last day of xx grade" pictures. haha We were always too excited about summer to be concerned with anything extra just because of school ending.

2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your kids?

Again, no kids of mine...however, this summer I can see myself making a tradition of park days with AxMan and his girls. I have also done special "dates" with my cousin, Ethan, to play golf and eat ice cream. We always have fun together. This summer I plan to make some baseball games to see my good friend O's kiddos play! Love them to pieces and it will be fun to spend time with them.

3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid?

This is so silly, but there were 2 things that I always really enjoyed as a kid. The first was the week spent at the county fair each summer (usually the week of my birthday). We were super 4-H'ers and took tons of projects and my parents were very involved as leaders. I still make it to the fair several nights! The other thing that I remember the most about summers was swimming. Swimming at my grandma's house...she had the most awesome in-ground pool that was also like a greenhouse/atrium glass enclosed. Swimming at our friend DeeDee's house (still do that! ha). And of course, hanging the swings really high on the swingset and jumping into the kiddie pool we set up at my other grandparent's house. Yep, we surely were the kids who gave their parents and grandparents heart attacks on a daily basis! ;)

4. How old were you when you married? Were you a Bridezilla?

Not married, but guessing if it ever happens...I'll be in my 30's as I'm about to hit that milestone next month! ha I would love to say I wouldn't be a bridezilla, but anyone who REALLY knows me and my obsessive need to plan events would tend to believe that I will most likely be a crazy bride. I must say though that as I get older, I'm more determined to have a smaller wedding somewhere (like a beach) and then have a big reception upon our return. I think that would be less stressful! ha (And yes Jen, I'll probably still be a bridezilla. So sue me! ha)

5. What is your favorite girl name?

I normally wouldn't share this, but seeing as how I have a previous friend who "stole" this name (I've loved this name since junior high), I wouldn't ever use it for my own child. Kylee. I knew a girl growing up that spelled her name - Kylie. And I pretty much idolized her and thought she was THE coolest. haha Why the double E? Well, I knew a girl - Ashlee - and I always liked the unique spelling that wasn't too crazy, but just different enough. Ya know?!? Oh well. ha

Day 235

If you'll remember from yesterday's post...I mentioned how stressful and chaotic today (and all 3 work days this week) would be. I am sad to say that it held true. Ugh! I was so relieved to get done with work, run a few errands, finish payroll for the excavating company and finally make my way home...in the drizzly rain. I got out of my car and was heading in the house when my cell phone fell out of my coat pocket (where I NEVER keep it). I've dropped it before, no big deal - I have an awesome case on it, but tonight...no tonight could not be the same as always. I reached down to pick it up and what do I find??

:( Sad face. Tears. Anger. GRRR!

This was SOOO not my day.

I ended up driving 20 minutes to the closest AT&T store (after calling to see if they had a phone I wanted). Luckily, there was a super sweet girl (shout out to Allison!) working and she called to see if she could get me an exclusive upgrade (which was $50 extra, but my upgrade wasn't due until the end of February)...and yay for me...I got it!! So instead of paying the no-commitment price (ouch ouch ouch that would have been expensive!), I paid the 2 year contract price. :) I ended up getting the Atrix 2, which is the new version of the phone I had. So far so good. I think I've got everything I really wanted/used downloaded on the new phone. We're back in business. Whew! That was a close call, folks. ha

Day 230

Some days my camera phone manages to take awesome pictures and Wednesday was one of those days. Harvest is winding down around this area and since our field (that we rent out to friends/local farmers) was one of the last to go. The guys left their 2 combines and a tractor with wagon in the field all week...this picture sums up my entire childhood. And kinda makes me wish I had someone to go ride in a combine with again! ha

Yes, the sky was really that blue. And those GREEN tractors are the best! :) Now that the fields are empty, it means winter is on it's way...ugh!

Day 229

I was draggin' all day on Tuesday! Might have had something to do with not getting home Monday night/Tuesday morning until 12:30am! :( I have a friend that always says, "you can sleep when you're dead." I felt like I was dying all week - haha - I have been in serious need of that oh so precious commodity, SLEEP. I tried to energize myself with 2 of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures...a Coca Cola (by the way, have you seen the ADORABLE white/silver polar bear cans they have right now?? LOVE it!) and a Little Debbie Nutty Bar. I seriously love those things. No lie. It's no wonder I have so much weight to lose! ha

Days 181-185

Wednesday 9/28

Moving day for my sister, Jenna! We moved her back to the complex she moved from nearly 2 years ago. It seems she has a great roomie, so we'll keep hoping that situation continues to be a good one. The best part of moving her was destroying the couch (sofa sleeper - do you know how HEAVY those damn things are?!?) that I originally bought when I moved to Indy for my first job after college. We have hated that couch for some time, so it was a joy! ha It ended up in the dumpster after mom removed the sleeper portion to make it lighter to carry.

yep, sparks & dumpsters :)

Thursday 9/29

After working a full (and chaotic) day at work...I ran a few quick errands before coming home to change my clothes and pack up everything for the weekend. Mom dropped me off at my aunt & uncle's house (we packed the million boxes in her truck). I got the trailer loaded with my stuff. Then we got my aunt settled in the truck (she recently had heel spur surgery and still cannot bear weight on that foot), I took off in my uncle's truck pulling the trailer. EEK! I was a little nervous, but the trailer pulled smoothly and the trip didn't seem to take very long even though I didn't drive nearly as fast as I normally do! haha When my aunt & I got down to Georgetown, KY to my cousin Zach's home, he greeted us with Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Yum! Later in the evening, we started setting up for the subdivision's garage sale weekend and my Scentsy Open House. My cousin Sara (Zach's sister) had sent lots of baby clothes for the garage sale. We were a bit slap happy by the end of the night!

setting up in the garage

Friday 9/30

Early to rise Friday morning....and there were already people cruising by at 7:30am, even though the garage sale didn't start until 8am! I really do not understand "yard salers." I can totally see the the benefit if you have a small child as clothing is expensive; however, I don't like it. ha I do not like to sort through hundreds of stacks to MAYBE find an item worth the trouble. Yuck. You probably won't ever catch me buying from a yard/garage sale.  To each his own! It was a slightly rainy morning, but cleared off and ended up being a pretty good day.

my little corner of the garage sale

Saturday 10/1

Where the heck did September go?? And why on earth is it so freaking cold already!?! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE fall. It's my favorite time of the year...but couldn't we ease into 50 degree weather? :p It was a miserably cold day and we didn't see as many people as the day before. Still managed to sell some items, but it wasn't what I'd call a success by any means of the word. I'm hoping all the fliers and business cards I passed out for my Scentsy business will net some returns in the coming months. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

baby Henry was so tired after a long day of selling :) here he is napping with his Scentsy Buddy, Patch the Dog

Sunday 10/2

Today was our day to return home. It ended up being a full house this weekend at Zach's. It was me, Zach, his mom (who rode down with me), his sister Sara and her 2 kids (who came down Friday night), his dad and other sister and her son (who came down Saturday afternoon)....woah. I think everyone needed a time out at one point or another! ha The kids pushed each other's buttons and Zach does not do well on patience. He used to be great about it, but he has lived on his own for the past 3 years and he cannot handle the noise or constant ruckus. And trust me, this group definitely causes a commotion! After a delicious breakfast, we all headed back home to leave Z with some peace and quiet...and lots of laundry! hahaha

Miss Callie shopping with her "baby" in tow today ;)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was crazy, but wouldn't trade it for anything in the world...except for some more sleep. ;)

Jesus & Running

Have you ever had a "come to Jesus" moment? I did. Now don't laugh, but it was definitely tonight while I was completing Week 2 - Day 2 of the C25K program!

I have been running in the house (not on a treadmill because we don't have one), just around the house (thank goodness we have a fairly open floor plan, although I have worn a path I think!). Tonight was the first night it hasn't been raining, so I decided to run outside...on the road. For anyone who doesn't know, it is a completely different experience! ha My legs and feet were killing me and I was definitely praying to God as I was running....please help me finish this, please don't let me have a heart attack, please help me keep moving. Nice, huh? Well, somehow I FINISHED the run/walk series tonight. No worse for the wear. :) I'm actually quite proud of myself for being able to run the entire time you're supposed to (90 seconds running mixed with 2 mins walking for a total of a 20 minute cycle). I did not stop moving once! For me that is a big accomplishment as I am not a runner and I am WAY heavier than my C25K buddy, Kayla!

At the end, I was feeling a bit like this....

hahahahaha :p

Revealed part 2

Okay, so the wrap has been off for about 2 hours now....I must say, I still love it! haha

The final result (day 1)...

I'll try to remember to post pictures as/after it heals. But I'm happy with it. :) The shading will fade quite a bit and be more of a shadow, but everything else is pretty well as it should be.

- - -
So why I got what I got....haha....

Dream - anyone who knows me knows I'm a dreamer, not just in that I have lots of goals/dreams, but that I literally have dreams and they often come true! I have dreamt speeches and woke up and typed the entire thing out word for word. I have have dreams about how an event would happen and it's happened that way exactly. I did get it to remind me to keep dreaming big and working hard for what I want in life!

3 Stars - of course they stand for mom, Jenna, and I...blue for mom, orange for Jen, and green for me. We've been through a lot together and will always be there for each other. :)
- - -

I always said I wouldn't be the type to get addicted to tattoos, but I have to admit, I really like it and may eventually get the other one I narrowed it down to. Time will tell.

Revealed

Are ya ready? Do you have any guesses?

Today I did something that I've been wanting to do since I was 17...however, back then I was too young without parental consent. haha

For those of you who guessed a TATTOO, you'd be correct! Today I got my very first tattoo. One of my friend's husband, Joost (pronounced Yo-st), has been doing tattoos for quite awhile and has recently done several for our other friends. He really does stellar work! If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll forward you his info. Actually, I may take a pic of his business card and post it later!

So, I know you all want to see it....

hahahahaha

I know, I know...that's cruel! Unfortunately, I ended up getting it done by myself (my friend Jaime had her 3rd one done right before me but had to split), so I forgot to take a picture before he saran-wrapped it. I still would have taken a pic but as you can see, he taped over it. :p So after I am allowed to take off the wrap, I will snap a picture and post it!

I love it. And will explain why and it's meaning later! ;)

Stay Tuned...

Thursday an important update will be posted!!!

Are you in suspense? hahaha ;)

Stay tuned!

Almost Packed & Ready to Go!

The trip meter is down to 3 days!! Where has all the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was talking to Karissa about making the trip...it was March then. ha

Monday I have lots of last minute errands to run - hair cut, tanning, nail fill, laundry, helping at the office one last time until I get back. Tuesday morning I'll finish packing and then when mom gets home from work at lunch, we're going to head to Indy. I have several errands in the Castleton area. When Jenna gets off work, we're all going to go out to eat together...since we won't all be together again until Christmas! Then mom will head home with my vehicle and I'll spend the night at Jen's...she's dropping me off at the airport on Wednesday morning. Wow! Then my journey will begin!! :)

For now I'll leave you with the first of what I imagine will be HUNDREDS, possible THOUSANDS of pictures...here's my buddy, Stanley, sitting with my luggage.

*Most of you probably know the story about Flat Stanley. I'm helping out Rajean's friend, Missy's, 2nd grade class by taking Stanley with me as I trek around the world! I helped Stanley pick out his outfit since my original travel partner had a laminator accident in IL (where Missy teaches)...I think he's rockin' his "Tiger Woods golf attire!" hahaha

Rain, Rain, Rain

Oh it seems like it's been raining for weeks now....I know it's only been a few days, but when I don't work 3 days in a row and it looks like tomorrow will be the 4th...it's a little depressing! My bank account certainly doesn't like it! ha

I'm spending this rainy day snuggled on the couch with my lil mister, Toby, sleeping on me. (that's the norm for him...ha)

On a positive note, Australia is only about 40 days away...woohoo!!!!!!! Sunshine here I come! :)

1st Birthday Fun

Sunday afternoon, my cousin Sara (and her husband, Andy), held a birthday party for their little girl Callie's 1st Birthday! It was a rather fun day...lots of family, friends, kids, food, and of course...FUN!!

Here's a few pictures of the fun...if you want to see more, you'll have to log on to Facebook! Even then, I only posted 167 of the 221 pictures I took. (I was playing with my camera so I could get better before Australia! haha)

the kids LOVED the bounce castle!

the birthday girl! she ate her cake so properly...ha

opening her gift from us :)

the pinata was a major source of entertainment!

my childhood friend Bridget and her adorable little girl Sara

YAY! finally the candy!! (it only took about 20 ppl hitting it, the men included!)

**As I started posting this, I decided that I would start uploading my pictures to Flickr, but it doesn't give me enough space to upload all my pics and I don't really want to purchase space...so I'm going to keep searching for a better way to store everything. I'll keep you updated! :p

Not Much to Report

I feel like I should have something exciting to share, but in fact I do not. haha It's pretty much been the usual hustle and bustle around here the past week or so.

Toby has been his usual rotten little self. As I type this, I just got done swatting him for biting my toe. This is the third attempt at that in the past 30 minutes!

I've been keeping mom busy! ha She volunteered to do it though...so it's really not my fault. ;) We're creating an outdoor scoreboard for the golf course so when we have big tournaments/events, we can post all the team scores in a more grand manner! Jesse and his dad, Gary, found an old chalkboard at the barn...and since they never use it (haven't in 6 years anyway), we decided to re-purpose it. After much debate and shopping for what I thought it would take to clean the chalkboard (and not finding anything), we decided to prime it and paint it with chalkboard paint before painting our scoreboard lines on it. We're keeping our fingers crossed that this works! The old chalkboard surface was not usable in its present state, even after scrubbing it clean. :/

I myself have been staying busy with golf course stuff, per usual. I'm gearing up for Member Day next week. I've ordered in some goodies (yay, surprises!) and am just waiting for the 9th to roll around so I can spend the day schmoozing with our members while running the grill. Yay rah. :p haha We have an event at least one day each weekend for the next month! It's gonna be a little hectic, but it's good business for the course. Yesterday we hosted a group of 30 for a Bachelor Party. I've known Matt his whole life, so it was fun to see a lot of my friends and church family out at the course.

As I was walking this morning, I had the realization that "FALL IS COMING!" Now if you don't know, I absolutely LOVE fall weather! It's my favorite season, hands down. :) I just love the sunshine and crisp air....the leaves will change colors...it's football season...harvest should be around the corner, but will be a little late around here this year... What's not to love? haha Yesterday and today have been gorgeous! The sun is out and warm, but the air and breeze keeps pretty cool in the 60's and maybe low 70's. Kinda makes me miss my days spent "Boiler'ing Up" in good ol' Ross Ade! I haven't been to a football game since my junior year (my senior semester I was student teaching down here), so I may have to try to get a group together for a game some time! Anyone interested???

All in all, I can't believe it's almost September! This summer flew by. It's really hard to believe that 4 weeks from now I will have already been home from New York for a few days! Woah. Before ya know it, I'll be in Australia. Mom mentioned today how she'll either have to go out for brunch on her own on Sundays while I'm gone, or not go out at all. I realized today that I'm going to miss Toby's 2nd birthday while I'm gone too. Bummer. I'm sure he'll forgive me (or rather be glad I'm not home) considering I made him wear a little cone party hat last year! hahaha :)

Okay, enough yammering!! I just put away all my clean laundry, but I think I might clean for a little bit before going to work at the golf course this afternoon. Hopefully it's a busy day!!

Enjoy this amazing weather! :)

The Countdown has begun!!!

MySpace Graphics
MySpace Graphics

I am so.....sooooooooooooooooo ready for vacation! ha I cannot begin to stress enough how much I need this short break. :p

How is it that I work that much harder to get everything prepared for being away? I normally put in approximately 55 hours a week...this week I'm on track for about 66 hours. What the heck!?! I don't think this vacation is long enough to full recharge myself from this week, but luckily I'll only have to wait another 45 days or so until the next trip! haha

It's almost bedtime...when I wake up...I will have 2.5 days of work to get through before we're off and running!!

After I get home from work Thursday night, mom and I will be heading to Indy. Hopefully I'll catch a few ZZZZZ's at Jen's place before we hit the road and head towards Wisconsin. We plan on stopping in Kenosha (some sort of cheese place - Mars, I think), then jetting over to good ol' Madison to see some Big Ten country, then down to New Glarus (the birthplace of beer such as the Spotted Cow, which Jen loves), and then FINALLY we'll be heading north again to the Dells. Thursday night/Friday morning can't get here fast enough!! Isn't that odd? Usually my week flies by....hmmm ;)

RIP Shelby Josephine

Today is a very sad day in the Menchhofer household. :(

My beautiful Great Pyrenees, Shelby Josephine (aka Shelby Jo), was hit and killed on the road in front of our house this morning. It angers me that someone could hit such a big dog and leave the scene of the accident without informing us. Have they no compassion?!? I cannot begin to describe how strong (in character) my momma is....I am even more sad that she was the one who had to find Shelby that way. Shelby and our other GP, Ice, have been getting out of the barnyard the past few days. They do this about once a year, I think it's always just to test mom. *sad laugh* I heard Shelby barking last night in the yard....so I knew she was out, but it was 11pm and mom had just put her back in an hour before that. This morning mom went outside to go to work and started calling for the dogs (our new morning ritual to make sure they are where they should be). Shelby never came....mom was preparing to get in her truck to go look for her....and as she pulled down the drive, my beautiful baby was laying in the road. Mom pulled her into the yard so that we can bury her later today. :'(

Mom called me after she got to work to tell me the news....of course, I am devastated. She wanted to warn me before I went outside for my morning walk. I knew I should stay away from the front yard, but I couldn't do it....I am not faint of heart, and I found myself throwing up. There are NO black marks on the road (they didn't brake obviously), the blood is still wet on the road (it had to have happened right before mom went outside)... I am saddened that someone could just hit someone else's pet and pretend it never happened. Purely from spite, I hope their vehicle requires thousands of dollars to repair the front end. I know that is mean, but if you saw our polar bear of a dog, you would understand that there is no way you could hit a dog that big as hard as they had to have hit her and not do damage.

Today is continuing to be a rough start....as soon as I think I'm done crying, it starts all over again. Our other dog, Ice, knows...dogs are so smart. I called her into the barnyard because I just needed to see her. (know that feeling?) She came out to the fence and just kept looking out to the front yard where Shelby is laying and then back to me. That broke my heart.

This makes MY second dog passing on around the time of my birthday. Just a few days before my 18th birthday, my German Shepherd mix - Midnight - had to be put down. And now, just a week shy of my 27th birthday, my beloved Shelby is gone.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

As most of my friends have already posted such things on their blogs and facebook status...it is truly the best time of the year! Why? It's FAIR time!! :)

I have been attending fairs (County and State) since I was 4 days old. Yes, my parents were the crazy ones with a newborn at the Indiana State Fair! haha ;) It's in my blood. I don't think there has been a single year of my life that I have missed fair.

Tonight Mom and I went to the good ol' Ripley County Fair to check things out. The Sheep Show was tonight (which felt weird because it's ALWAYS been on Thursday night). The Baby Show was also tonight. My Aunt Roni and Uncle Kevin are Nikken Wellness Consultants and had a spot set up at the fair, so we stopped by to see them for awhile.

Here's some pics of the fun!

Lovin' the Weather

I know most people are unhappy with the cooler July temps, but I absolutely love it! The only time I want it to be HOT is when I'm on the beach or in the tanning bed. hahaha :p I do have to admit that last night and this morning on my walks, it was a little chilly, but not bad.

Last night I had a nice, relaxing evening. Today is off to a good start...after work, probably gonna hang out at the Grub for awhile with friends.

It's been a somewhat hectic week, but things are calming down a little...only for fair to start! I kinda miss hanging out at the fair all day everyday, but there just isn't time for that anymore. Friday I will be announcing most of the 4-H Livestock Auction. I would do it all, but I have a wedding rehearsal to attend that evening and trust me, the auction will not be over by then, despite our best efforts! If it is, I will be shocked beyond belief! ha So auction, then dashing off to the rehearsal. Saturday is my cousin April's wedding. Her soon-to-be husband, Jay, I have known most of my life as well. Mom is playing for the wedding and I am singing. Then it'll be time for the PARTY! ha ;) It should be a really great reception as the 2 families coming together like to have a good time. I certainly plan on enjoying myself! :)

I'll try to keep you posted throughout the week, but until next weekend, not much going on by way of pictures or events.

Enjoy your weekend!

Put One Foot in Front of the Other...

...and soon you'll be walking out the do-oo-or! (anyone a fan of the animated movie Santa Claus Comes to Town? ha...then I'm sure you understand the sing-song title!

Lately I've been walking walking walking walking! I've been doing a minimum of 2 miles a day, but it's really been more like 2.5-3.5 miles a day depending on how much time I have. My good friend, Karissa, calls them sanity walks! ha I would have to agree with her as I work a lot of stuff out in my head while I'm walking. I think I may have lost a little weight as one of my favorite pairs of jeans is now saggy and loose without me even wearing them! :) Hey, I'll take it...progress is progress! ha

On a similar note, today I went and had blood drawn. Last summer (yes, I know...I've waited a long time, but I don't have insurance!) my new doctor mentioned while checking out my poison sumac that he thought I might have a thyroid condition. After having 2 cousins diagnosed with thyroid problems, one cousin being borderline, and another friend also have weight issues due to thyroid imbalances...I decided I should probably get checked out. Hoping to hear back sooner rather than later, but I'll patiently wait on the results.

It's been a super busy day...gonna relax for awhile and enjoy re-runs on tv! :p
