We Bought a House!

Well...some of you may have read about a month ago that we would soon have news to share! That time has FINALLY come!

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE.

That's right...today we signed the papers to officially buy our home. It's been in my family for many many years. My grandparents bought this house when they moved back to Indiana after WWII, added electricity, raised 2 kids and 3 grandkids here, then my mom bought the house from my grandma when I was a Senior in high school and did some slight remodeling, and now here we are...in the midst of leaving our mark on this home.

The fun of remodeling continues! ha #pleaseletitbeoversoon Seriously though. We've been waiting for 2 weeks to sign the papers and be able to move forward with buying the new appliances, cabinets, flooring and counter tops. We meet with our contractor again tomorrow night to hopefully finalize our plans.

  1. Congratulations! I admit, I was a little confused at the title; I was thinking, "they did all this remodeling, why buy a different house?" But I get it ... it is YOUR house now. Let the joys of home-ownership begin! Enjoy :)

  3. I can only imagine the excitement you’ve experienced when you finally got the house. I bet there are some really great memories in it, and now it’s time for you to make some more. Anyway, I hope things have been doing great with the remodeling. Thanks for sharing!

  4. That is the way I think when house shopping. I look for the worst house in the best neighborhood for one reason, fix it up with minimal effort and the house value soars to that of the community. Even if you do minimal improvements, the house value will climb quickly to meet that of the best houses in that nicer community.

  5. Good to know that not only did you get a new house, but you also got a house that was in your family for many generations. That must be so exciting to have so much family history in there. I hope you continue to enjoy it. And, I hope remodeling goes smoothly. It is time for you to leave your mark!
