Toby scares his mommy!

This weekend Toby gave me quite the scare!! You see...mamaw gave Toby a new plush toy the other day. He had completely destroyed his other toys and the bone we ordered him (like his purple squeaky one) hadn't arrived yet. He loved the new squeaky dumb-bell shaped toy...he would roll it, shake it, and run around with it! Well Saturday morning I slept in ('til 9am). I have been absolutely exhausted from all the hours I'm working, plus trying to get stuff done for the Queen Pageant AND keep up with stuff here at home. I woke up to Tobers barking at my bedroom door and scratching at it...my alarm went off, so I got up and headed into the kitchen to see what he was up to! ha

I walk into the kitchen and scattered from my door through the house into the living room under mom's table...was polyfill...yep, that would be the stuffing from his new plush toy!!! I get into the living room and immediately panic sets in as I see the toy ripped open under the table. I pick it up and pull it apart...no squeaker!?! AAHHH! I frantically searched the house for this plastic or metal piece (I've heard it can be either from puppy articles). I can't find it! I call mom at work and tell her that her grandson has destroyed the toy she gave him and I'm sure he's eaten the stupid squeaker. My dog will eat just about anything he can get to! We debate calling one of our vets (I have one for Toby, but had to take him to another family friend who is a vet when my vet was sick for a few weeks) and having Toby checked out, but in the end decide to watch him and see what happens. It's gotta come out one end, right?!? So we wait and watch...nothing. He's running around like normal although I keep feeling his stomach to see if I can feel anything abnormal! Mom watches him while I'm at work and doesn't notice him acting any differently.

Saturday night Zach comes over for dinner and Toby is running around the house like his usual nutty self. We're about to call it a night when all of a sudden Toby "yacks" up some pasty lookin stuff on the floor! (Sorry for the description...but I definitely didn't look too hard at it! I'll be a horrible mom cause it makes me sick to be around others getting sick! Mamaw had to clean that junk up!!) Mom says there's something hard and plasticy in the yack, so we are glad that he passed the squeaker! And he of course goes right back to his usual self!

Sunday I'm working again and mom gives me a call...guess what she found?!? THE SQUEAKER! The little turkey didn't eat it after all, he must have played with it and it was stuck between the copy machine stand and the couch!!!!!!! So...we have no idea what he yacked up, but at this point nothing surprises me with him! Ah Toby!! Little rat gave me a panic attack this weekend for nothing! Don't you just love puppies!?!

Bowling Birthday Bash

Friday night was so much fun! My adorable cousin, Ethan, had his big 5th Birthday party at a local bowling alley....and the entire family came out for some fun! We bowled for a few hours. Most of us hadn't bowled in several years! haha I was at a lane with mom, Zach, Sara, Andy and Jason! We had a blast...Jason won the first game and Mom won the second. We all had our ups and downs, but it was good. Ethan and the other kids had a BLAST!! He is so stinkin cute and so are the others. Monica babysits Adam and Kolton...so we know them pretty well. And McKenzie is another cousin, plus she lives just down the road from Ethan. They were all in pre-school together the past 2 years, so I feel sorry for the kindergarten teacher who has to break up that posse!! haha Ethan had a huge birthday cake and also got to open lots of presents! We gave him a bag of red golf balls with his name imprinted on them, as well as a bag of golf tees. He was pretty excited!! He has been wanting colored golf balls. ha After bowling, a big group of us headed over to Mancino's (pizza & grinders) for dinner. It was my first time eating there and boy oh boy is it good!?! We'll be going back there soon! I couldn't believe it was a little after 10pm by the time we got done eating and were ready to leave Greensburg. Mom and I finally made it home and got ready for bed...but Toby was all wound up from being home alone all day! haha

Adam, McKenzie, Ethan, Kolton

Oh the fun of family and birthdays! Ethan is now 5 years old...which is hard to believe! It was also nice to spend time with everyone. I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!

The Mountie is mine!!

It is a true astonishing feat that I have actually managed to keep a vehicle for more than 2 years...I am always trading in and up! ha Almost 5 years ago, I decided that I need an SUV (wow what a bad decision!?!). So I bought a Mountaineer. I love my car, it has been good to me over the past few years, but it is certainly the longest I have ever kept a vehicle. Not only that, but today I found out that my car is officially mine!! Yep, the bank no longer can claim it because the loan has been PAID off! I have certainly never done that before! haha It feels so good to have made it all the way through the loan period...and to have it paid off a few months early!

I know this is a silly post, but I just had to celebrate! My car payments have loomed over me since I moved home...and thankfully I have great family and friends who see my value as an employee and keep me working (and in paychecks!)!!!!!! I'm excited to be able to save up that money and put it to better use!

And for all of you wondering...no, the Mountaineer will probably not sit in my driveway for years and years to come...but until I know exactly what car I want and have been able to save up for it, there won't be any new loan or lease payments! ha (Besides, just read an article this weekend said that even though gas prices are up, you will lose in the end if you buy a new vehicle...and it made a lot of sense! Plus I'm trying to be very money-smart and I don't want to immediately replace the payment I was making.)

Well, that's all for now! Hope everyone had a great weekend...and a belated Happy Mother's Day to all who are mommies! (My sister and I took our momma out to eat at one of our favorite local places for brunch and surprised her with a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory! She really wanted to go there, but I had to work this weekend so we made Jen come home.)

Exciting News!

YAY! So...I very well may have a full-time job! (yes, I know I am working full time hours at the course, but that's not what I mean! ha) Last night I was closing the course and my boss was hanging out with a friend when he asked me if I wanted to work full-time. I said, um...well, I'm pretty much already doing that...haha Then he said no, he meant that he was talking with his brother and they were tired of doing all the paperwork for their businesses (they own companies that do line work for the local REMC as well as general contracting/electrical work among other things!). So I said that sounds like a good plan. So now we're in the process of working out all the details...hours, pay, etc. I'm really excited though! I've known Jesse and his brother Matt for a long time. They are both easy going and it would be great to have a full-time job!! So, we'll just see what happens I guess. And I will still be working at the golf course, at least during the summer. Jesse would have a melt down if I didn't! :p

That's all the news I have for now...not really set in stone, but exciting nonetheless!!

On the Course Again!

Well, it has been quite a while since I've written anything...so here goes nothing! All my time has been spent working here recently. I've been spending 40+ hours at the golf course and about 20 hours at the salon. I told mom the other night that last summer didn't seem to be this difficult when I was working 60 hours a week, but I also built up to that work schedule. Things are going well at the course. We are busier with every day...and every warmer day brings better greens! The guys keep teasing me that they're going to make me a golfer yet! ha I actually wouldn't mind learning how to play, seeing as how I watch people play all the time, but clubs are expensive and I would need a lefty set! argh! Who knows, they may wear me down yet!?! *wink*

Here are a few pictures from the course! I have more on my camera that I haven't downloaded yet, but I keep waiting for The Boss (aka Jesse) to finish putting up trim in the clubhouse before I post the "finished" pictures! Things are looking really good and we get tons of compliments daily. You definitely can't beat a job where you get to sit and read or work on stuff you bring while practically sitting outside!! (there is a big sliding door on the side of the clubhouse that we open and you feel like you're sitting outside) Even bartending isn't too bad! ha The guys generally tip pretty well and its easy enough to open the cooler and get out whatever one of the 11 beers we currently sell!
