New Luggage & Totes

Some of you may have heard through the grapevine that I am planning a trip at the end of the year to go see my good friend, Karissa, and her family in Australia! :) In light of the upcoming trip, I've been purchasing things as I come across good bargains...which seems to be happening all at once! Ouch on the pocketbook! haha

Anyway, I found this adorable luggage set on sale a few weeks ago and HAD to have it! Not to mention the fact that the luggage set I currently have is mostly in Jenna's apartment. Every time she goes on a trip she borrows it and I haven't not gotten 2 of the pieces back! ha Oh well, now I have a new fun set! ha I wanted something to stand out on the luggage carousels at the airports and I think I found it... (everyone has been doing red, so I didn't want to do that and my old set was black...and the new pieces I've been acquiring the past year or so I can't find matching pieces to!)

Also I saw these really cool "green" bags on one of Rajean's friends' blogs...haha...yeah, I admit it, I'm a blog stalker! haha :p I decided they would make great bags for lugging stuff around in when I'm traveling the globe later this year! (Australia, New Zealand, China) I've always been a fan of tote bags and these are cute, environmentally friendly (gotta quit using plastic bags!), and hold quite a bit of weight. I bought 2 for myself and 1 for Jen since she is always lugging stuff around to all her swing dances. :)

Hide & Seek

Apparently the sunshine has decided to play hide & seek this week!! :(

After an absolutely FABULOUS weekend here in southeastern IN...I mean, how could anyone not love the 80 degree sunny weather we had Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday!?! It was wonderful! A great weekend at the golf course. I love busy weekends like that! Of course I knew it would rain today...it's the first day of League play at the course! haha It always seemed to rain on league nights last year. Ugh.

So for now I'm going to enjoy a little down time. I doubt I'll be at work very much this week. Of course I'd rather have slept in this morning, but my wonderful (said sarcastically through gritted teeth this morning) pup Toby found it necessary to wake me up over 30 mins before my alarm went off! Argh. Brat. haha

I hope everyone got to enjoy the weekend! I can't believe it's almost MAY! Goodness where has the time gone?!?

Ridin' Around in My Automobile...

Today mom forgot some stuff at home and since it's another lovely rainy day in southeastern Indiana...I decided to take a quick trip into town to deliver her forgotten goods (part of which was her lunch! ha). Toby has been a very good boy this morning, so I thought I'd take him with me. I used to take him out a lot on short trips like that, but haven't done it in some time. So he jumped into his tote (yes, it's his...even has his name embroidered on the side) and away we went! He did very well on the ride into town, although he seemed to be unsure of what we were doing. When I got into town, we went around the block so that the passenger side would be parked on the curb when mom came out to get her stuff. She walked towards us and then she saw him...haha...as soon as she said Toby, he was wiggling around like a nut! ha He LOVES his mamaw!! So she pet him and he about jumped out of the tote he was so excited. As soon as she closed the door, he squeaked and she started laughing. Until we were past the high school on the way home, he was still a lil yippy. We made it home in one piece, even though it was an icy rain...seriously, little pieces of ice were mixed in with the rain! CRAZY.

Here's a pic of Toby for our trip. He can be such a good baby, sometimes. ha

Dizziness + Meds + Sunshine + Work = Rainy Day Break

Well the title pretty much says it all...it has been an extremely hectic and stressful week around here! It started off with not feeling well/being dizzy all the time to going to the doctor and getting a pill that doesn't settle well with me, but that does take away the dizziness. Throw in a very nice, sunny Saturday where I worked for 9 hours....what do you get? A TIRED girl! Jenna and her friend, Fei-Fei, made a surprise stop after being in the Louisville area looking for Fei's new apartment. I unfortunately didn't get off work early enough to go have dinner with them at The Grub Co. :( By the time I did get home, I had to take my pill for the night and that pretty much puts me out of commission for the rest of the time.

We all woke up to a rainy Sunday, but managed to make it to Crossroads for some yummy breakfast! :) Jen & Fei headed off on another of their adventures...haha...and mom & I came home to rest. I believe I just heard the recliner leg rest flip out, so I'm guessing mom and Toby are napping! hahahaha I would love a nap, but for now I have office work I need to get caught up on! I hope to make this a productive day even though the rain makes it hard.

I hope everyone has a good day! Hope you got to enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday!

Good Drugs

For anyone who REALLY knows me, you know that I have an extremely high pain threshold and that it takes very little medicine to fix the problem! For example, when I have a severe headache/migraine...I take Children's Bayer Aspirin (dosage for a 2 year old) and within a 1/2 hour I feel fabulous! haha Seriously. Ask my family. :p

Today, I finally decided to get an appointment to go see a doctor about my dizziness since it was not going away. Dr. M told was mostly concerned about my blood pressure, which had me worried at first. I generally run on the low side, but today it was high and after they checked it THREE times, he said he was glad it was a little high because he would be worried about me fainting/passing out if it got too low. After checking my ears and running through all the symptoms, he decided that it is most likely a middle ear problem caused by allergies. Whew!

He gave me some meds, which used to be by prescription but are OTC now. I took the first pill as soon as I got it and although I'm still feeling some dizziness, it's not nearly as bad! He said the pills should work immediately and if not, I'd have to go to an ENT (ear-nose-throat specialist for you novices. haha I am well versed in ENT's after all my childhood problems.) He was thinking ENT because he could see the scarring left behind from having tubes twice when I was younger, at least he HOPED it was old scars.

For now I choose to believe I'm on the mend!! Hopefully after another dose tonight and a few tomorrow, I'll be as good as new! :)

PS-what an absolutely beautiful day!

Blast from the Past

Here are a few more pictures that I scanned. All in all, I scanned about 300 pictures!?! If you are on Facebook or Myspace, you can view everything.

It's funny how many memories resurfaced as I scanned the pictures! I've had some really awesome opportunities, made some unbelievably amazing friends, learned a lot of important lessons about life/myself/others, and still have so much more to do! All of this in only 26...almost 27 years! Wow. ha :)

Weeble Wobble

I am quite dizzy again today. It's frustrating trying to do anything! If I move too quickly, I feel like I'm gonna fall over....grrr. Hopefully this will get better SOON....

Just sitting here on the couch gives me a headache.

Seriously?

The past 2 days have been the kind of days where you just get on your knees and pray for things to get better!

Not only has the weather been absolutely crappy...anything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Yesterday I can't tell you how many times I cried over stupid stuff just because I couldn't take it! I was a mess last night!! ugh!

*My cell phone bit the dust when I tried to download the updated software.
*I was getting better from my sickness last week when all of a sudden my body decided to break down some more...EARACHE! (for anyone who knows how much trouble I had as a kid with my ears, this totally sucks...)

That's just a few of the highlights from my last few days. I've been dizzy/light-headed all day, so now I'm laying on the couch trying to enjoy American Idol and I can't even do that! argh!

Okay...enough of the gripe session.

Later gator.

The Good Ol' Days

I just bought a scanner...something I have wanted to do for awhile, but kept putting off because my sister has one (although she is in Indy) and my cousin has one (albeit, I drive by their house everyday but never have time to stop in).

Tonight I got it all set up and decided to test it out... I started pulling some pictures off my French memo board and out of some of the frames around my room (all pics that I only have print copies of, you know, pre-digital era).

For all my friends on Facebook, you have seen the madness start...for everyone else, I'll try to keep you updated on my progress! ha I have LOTS of pictures from the good ol' days...LOTS and LOTS.

Here are a few that I scanned tonight! :)

Sunny Weekend Turned to the Ickies

Great, glorious, sunny, stupendous weekend at the golf course! We had fantastic weather on Saturday for my first (self-planned, carried out, etc) scramble at the golf course. We had 10 teams play in the scramble and I was quite pleased to have several people who never play in the events come out to join us! :) Sunday turned out to be a pretty nice day as well. The rain didn't come out until about 6pm, so we had a full day at the course. Oh, we're off to a wonderful start! :)

Yesterday and today have taken a turn for the worse...and because of the not-so-lovely weather, I'm feeling icky again. I have a sore throat today that I'm hoping to nip in the bud! I don't want this thing dragging out any further, or turning into anything more! :p

I know I should probably have more to tell, but you might as well know I live a fairly mundane life! ha It's work (at the office or golf course), playing with my pup Toby, or spending time with mom. Other than that, I don't have much time to accomplish anything else!

Hope you're all enjoying this cold, windy day! Where's Spring?!?
