Baby Kya

Fact: We're absolutely in love with lil Kya!

Fact: She is fearless and has already been traipsing through the muddy barnyard.

Fact: Ice is a little annoyed with Kya because she's always following her and bumping into her. haha

Here's a few pics on a wet, muddy day...I went outside to play with Kya for a little while and she got me covered in mud. Oh well, she's too sweet to be mad at! ha She just wants to play. Those sad puppy eyes and her whimpering really break your heart.

Early Mother's Day

This year mom gets to celebrate Mother's Day for a little longer than normal! For the past several months she's been commenting about how lonely our Great Pyrenees, Ice, has been acting. Last year my wonderful GP, Shelby, was hit and killed on the road. We have all been missing her, but especially her pal Ice.

For Mother's Day, Jen and I decided to find mom a puppy. I have to tell you it was really luck that I found the breeder I did, she is WONDERFUL. Oh...and they are a Purdue family! Woohoo! :) It doesn't get any better than that!! ha

This morning I snuck over to Columbus area while mom was at work and sent Jen pics to pick out the little girl we were getting for mom. Mom was quite shocked when she got home and found a puppy waiting for her! She named her Kya (ky-ah). Kya is the sweetest, most butterball, calm dog. She has taken to her new home and is settled out in the barn. Ice has taken to her as well, being her protector from the ewes...for now. ha ;)

We're all pretty excited about Kya! Puppies sure are great! :) Even Toby didn't mind her too much while she was in the house for lunch. ha

Enjoy the pics...I'm sure there will be more to come in the next few months!

Women of Excellence

Well, besides Mary Kay and the golf course, I have not had time for anything else! Which is okay...ha

Last Thursday, I attended a special Mary Kay training in Louisville that I am so thankful my team helped me earn!! :)

Kathy Goff-Brummett is a top-notch speaker and trainer. She trained on How to Become a Better Presenter! Naturally, a lot of it was similar to my FFA days, but it was a nice refresher and especially good to get a Mary Kay spin on it!

Here's a few pics from the day!

The Simple Things

It's amazing how excited you can get about just the little things in life! haha

Today I got the internet hooked up at the golf course...Verizon DSL is pretty awesome. :) No more boring days and evenings for us! When there's no one on the course, this place can be Dullsville. I've been walking 4-5 miles a day out of sheer boredom. (although hopefully that will help my waistline! ha)

Thursday our DishNetwork will get setup! Woohoo!

If it was your first time here, you might actually think we are some sort of golf course. ha ;) We can only hope!

Sunny Easter

The Easter Bunny didn't visit our house this year....but at least he brought some sunshine with him when he visited the local community! ha

I unfortunately had to work at the golf course today. It's not much fun working 8 hours on a holiday. Bah humbug!

The weather has been gorgeous recently...and I've been taking advantage of it. Since I'm stuck at the golf course 8-10 hours a day, I've been walking while there. Mind you I can't go far (gotta stay within phone ringing distance and clubhouse), but I drove the length of our driveway (from clubhouse to parking lot) and it's one tenth of a mile. So I walk 5 laps at a time and get in 1 mile! Woohoo! My goal is to walk at least 2 miles every day, but I've been walking 4 miles a day. :) I've also cut back to only one Coca Cola a day. Trying to eat healthier again. Got a new determination to lose weight!

The only exciting moment of the weekend was that I took Jenna to get her tattoo. We had a scary moment not too far into the process when she lost focus and somewhat passed out. Her whole body went rigid, her chin locked to her chest, and she started trembling! It took her a minute to come around...I kept repeating her name and trying to wake her. All of a sudden she popped out of that trance and said "What?" Needless to say, we were all a little freaked out! (she's done the passing out thing one other time in her life) She went outside to get some air and felt much better, so Joost continued. She had to go outside one more time to cool down (she felt it coming on that time and prevented any incident), but she's quite happy with the finished product!

To explain her tattoo: the colors of the music notes are the same as mine! :) And anyone who knows her knows how much music rules her life. The "We are Family" song is her ringtone on her phone for mom and I, plus it's a long standing joke with her and mom. It's SOOOOOO her. She has it on her left inside arm.

Happy Easter peeps! ;)
