5QF - 4/1/11

Hope you're all enjoying April Fool's Day! ;)

Here's today's Five Question Friday! Yay! Love these days...and not just because it's Friday, which means a 4 hour work day. haha :)

1. Have you ever had surgery?
Yes...let me count. ha

1. Tubes in my ears
2. Tonsils/Adnois removed
3. Another set of tubes in my ears
4. Gallbladder removed

I think that's it! I told the surgeon on the last time that he could remove anything not necessary and a possible hindrance in the future. He laughed. I was serious. Unfortunately, I still have all the other parts and I'm praying no more problems!

2. Ever ride in an ambulance?
Nope, thank goodness!

3. How are you in a medical emergency? Panicked? Calm?
I am calm. Usually I'm the one telling everyone else to calm the heck down!

4. Do you have a garden? Flowers or veggies?
No. We used to, but I have a black thumb. I hated gardening/weeding when I was growing up. It was a forced chore until it was discovered how itchy grass makes me....it's one of my allergies. Nice, huh? ha I do love veggies...and flowers...but don't count on me to grow any.

5. When did you move out of your parents house?
haha I moved out a few weeks after I graduated high school, at the ripe old age of 17. I moved back in for a year when I was finishing college and doing my student teaching at a local high school. Then I moved back out for a few years after I graduated college. And now....I'm back. Argh! I am so thankful I'm living rent free, but miss having my own place. I'm lucky though. My mom is awesome!

Project 365

So I realize it's a little late in the year to start this, but it'll just continue into 2012!

I have decided to take part in Project 365! What is it? Well, it can be whatever you decide. The purpose is to do something each day for one year. Some people decide to read 20 minutes a day, others decide to cook something each day (ever seen Julie & Julia?), save a set amount of money each day, do a good deed each day, and others like myself...will take a picture each day to show the story of a year in my life.

I'm not sure what I'm going to take pictures of for 365 days, but this journey will serve multiple purposes! haha

Purpose #1 - Fulfill my New Year's resolution to take more pictures
Purpose #2 - Cross an item off my "bucket list"
Purpose #3 - Become a better photographer
Purpose #4 - Have a creative way to document life

Who's with me? What will you take on for the next 365 days??

Join me!

My journey will begin Friday, April 1st and I hope you'll join me!

-4 and a Wedding!

For starters...I am down 4 more pounds from last week! WOOHOO! I have to say a huge Thank You to my Big Sis (from sorority days) Kortni and her friend, who is now my friend, Amy, for all their encouragement and support the past week. We are all doing Weight Watchers and exercising and it's been great having support, even via internet since we live so far apart! I am down to the point where I ended last fall...and excited to continue my progress!

And now....my weekend!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JUSTIN AND KAYLA! I am so happy for both of you! Justin, the brother I never thought I wanted, but so thankful I did have...it was great seeing your family again. Kayla, my friend! You are a wonderful friend (amazing how we clicked right away when we met just over a year ago) and I am glad that Justin found you and that you have created a sweet family together! Jaden is getting so big!

It was a great night catching up with my FFA family! :) The proof is in the fact that my throat is sore from all the talking/laughing! We had fun celebrating with the newlyweds...

Kyle, Erin, Justin, Rajean, Liza

Kyle, Erin, Kayla, Justin, Rajean, Liza
Love you guys! Can't wait for our next reunion this summer at State Convention...10 year Anniversary! Holy smokes! ha

-3

So...it's been awhile since I posted any weight loss updates. Not sure how that happened as I was positive I had! haha

Two weeks ago, I lost just 1 pound. And this week I lost 2 pounds. So I am down 3 pounds since my last update, which makes for a total of 19 pounds! Woohoo! I think I am 3 pounds away from where I stopped losing weight the last night (aka last fall). This time there is no end in sight! :)

I am still using Weight Watchers points to control my portions. It's fun to get to lower the number of points you get when you lose weight and cross a new barrier! (that's about every 10 pounds...and coincidentally, also when I notice I can't eat all those points in a day)

This week I have not been exercising, I decided to take a week off since I've been faithful at 5-6 days a week for the past 6 weeks. I was going to re-start this week with a workout video Jenna has, but she forgot to bring it home. So I'll go back to doing the same as before and get her video this upcoming weekend.

I'd really like to give Zumba a try, but I hate to buy the dvd set and I don't wanna go by myself around here! ha

Well, it's been an awesome day here in southeastern Indiana! :) Lovin' the sunshine even though it is a bit on the cool side.

Tonight we're going to my cousins' house for a birthday bonfire & cookout. Should be a good time!

Oh yeah..............Boiler Up! Hope you're all enjoying March Madness!

Five Question Friday - 3/18/11

TGIF!! I don't know about you...but this week has been forever long & incredibly hectic!?! Yowza! I'm so ready for the weekend. Normally I enjoy a short 4 hour work day on Friday, but today I will be working a full 9 hour day due to a safety/quality audit at work. Yay me. *sarcasm* The silver lining is that I'll actually have overtime hours & some extra cash in my paycheck. :)

Okay, so on to the questions!

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?
No, I have never testified in court. When my parents were going through their divorce we were going to have a meeting with the judge, but it never came to fruition (although I was sitting at the court house waiting to talk to the judge!).

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?
Seeing as how I've never been married...that would be a big 'ol NEGATIVE. haha But if that day ever comes, I am definitely the "save it" type and it will be cleaned, boxed, and stored for eternity!

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?
When I'm stressed, I like to go to Indy (to visit my sis) or Lexington (to see my cousin). When I'm sad, I just like to sit at home on the couch with my puppy and watch tv. And of course when I'm happy...I just like to go out and see the world! :) And a drive in my car with the windows down, radio blasting & sunshine warming the world will cure any of those moods. Ahhhh. That makes me smile just thinking about it!

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?
I can honestly say I never slept with my parents and no, my kids will most certainly not sleep in my bed! ha There is nothing appealing about a kid laying sideways between you and your spouse in bed. :p (I've heard a few stories from friends who are parents!)

5. Do you watch late night TV?
I am typically NOT a night owl. I love mornings and since I have to be at work by 7am, I just can't make it late into the night. Sad, huh? haha I used to love all night sleepovers with friends, but I am not cut out for it these days. If I do stay up late (like I did while visiting my cousin the other weekend), I have a rough time getting up at a decent hour. The only thing worth watching late at night is COPS or Las Vegas Jailhouse....haha...yes, I LOVE those shows!

Five Question Friday - 3/11

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?
Yes, it's the same color it is now! ha I've only colored my hair a few times & that was a few years ago. I naturally turn blonde-ish in the summer...all the stylists at my cousin's salon are jealous of my hair because I have natural highlights!

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?
Anyone who knows me...knows I'm a PLANNER. I'm a list maker. Super organized. I'll be working all summer, but we do have a vacation planned for July. :) Probably some random trips to Lexington to see Z or Indianapolis to see J.

3. What is your favorite meal to cook?
Funny you ask...I just made it (sitting down to eat it while I type this!). Grilled salmon fillet & wild rice. Yum. Yum. Yum.

4. Do you get offended by not receiving thank yous?
Not any more. It's sad, but people just don't do that anymore. I always send out Thank Yous, but that is ingrained in me from 4-H, FFA, and Mary Kay.

5. How did you meet your best friend?
Well, that's a tough question...I have best friends from school, etc. But my BEST best friends....are my sister (J) & cousin (Z). I know, corny. We talk a lot & hang out. We're the 3 Musketeers! We've spent so many nights hanging out at my old apartment or here at home, or on the road for a trip! I value their opinions & always know I can tell 'em anything.

What sets this company apart from other direct sales companies:
* GROUND FLOOR opportunity (probably won't ever happen to you again!) * Strongest comp plan in the industry
* Very successful "designer" multi-million dollar jeweler making/backing this jewelry, so sure to be successful
* Instead of growing one sales rep at a time, this business model using the free sign-up period - we can grow fifty sales reps at a time - but the time to do that is NOW!

This company is going to explode in a few weeks with a national press release and official launch. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So be one of the first to sign up!

Then you can do the same as me and get credit for signing up your friends, which is what we are compensated for with jewelry, cash and/or an ipad. It is not about selling the jewelry at this point, but networking and creating interest. If you decide not to sell, you have lost nothing and your name is dropped from the list.

I joined and thought I'd pass the information along. I'm excited to see what unfolds. You can join in too by using my link. Remember to join before March 15th to be in the free signing period!

Detox Anyone?

So this weekend I'm visiting my cousin Zach in Lexington. Z and I have always been close. He's 2 months older than my sister and all of us cousins spent a majority of our youth together. I'm so thankful for that!

Z owns the electronic equipment to do foot detoxification baths....and he'd been telling me about how awesome it was. I've read about detox pads and baths before, so I was excited to try it! I was a little anxious about all the gunk that might be in the foot bath after the detox, but gave it a go anyway.

I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as disgusting (although make no mistake, it was gross!) as I expected it to be after I saw pics of other friends and family members who did it. ha If you can find a spa or health/wellness location that offers detox services....DO IT! You will be so glad you did! I'm gonna do it 2 more times this weekend and I'll post the results. A local massage therapist offers detox so I'm gonna try to schedule appointments with her every month or so to keep it up. It certainly can't hurt my weight loss, right?

other pics I've seen...the water was BLACK (which is about as bad as it gets) - the bubbles in the center is yeast...maybe had something to do with the 2 beers we just drank? haha Whoops.

On another note, I'm down 4 more pounds...a total of 16 pounds! Yay!

Five Question Friday 3/4

1. Have you ever forgotten your child in a store or at school?
No kids = never forgetting my child! Score! :) haha

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)
hmmm...had to think on this one and still not 100% sure. I think my first date was probably a New Year's Eve party that my cousins and I threw at our grandma's house with a lot of friends over and I started "dating" a guy that night and we sat and held hands pretty much the whole night. haha It seemed pretty grand for a freshman in high school! :p

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)
It's really not silly per say, but I'm terrified of never finding someone special to spend my life with and have a family with.

4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with is as it comes, or run far far away?
I'm a deal with it head-on kinda gal! ha I've never run away and in my youth may have caused it....but these days, I just deal with it when it happens and move on. Sometimes people just need to be put in their place, ya know? ;)

5. Wood floors or carpet?
Both! I love carpet for the softness and warmth, especially in the winter months because our wood floor in the living room makes the room seem considerably cooler than the rest of the house! In the summer, there's nothing better than walking across the cool wood floor with your bare feet.
