Movie & Weather Review

Last night mom and I decided to go watch Couples Retreat at the theater. It was a good decision!! Such a fun movie. Men and women were laughing...even the 2 little old ladies behind us were laughing! It's a pretty clean movie, only mildly suggestive during the yoga instructor scenes...and if you've seen a preview, you know what I'm talking about. haha It was the perfect movie for a cool, rainy night. It is definitely a "buy when it comes out on dvd" kind of movie...one I'll watch many times! :)

Also this weather still stinks! ha No more rain this morning (FINALLY), but it has cooled off. I guess it's time to prepare ourselves for coats. ugh. I hate wearing coats/jackets. I was feeling much better and then last night with the cool rain and being trapped in mom's truck with a defrost that will melt you on the lowest setting (gotta love Indiana weather), I am feeling a bit stuffy this morning. :( I cannot and will not get sick!! I am leaving for Australia in less than 40 days and my colds always drag on forever. So, more meds to try to prevent this crap from settling in. haha

Well, my vehicle should have warmed up enough now (and windows defrosted) so I can see to drive to town. Gotta get my vitamin D this morning! haha (aka...I'm going to go tan) Then I'll be headed to work later this afternoon although I highly doubt we have many golfers today. :( The sunny side to all this is that tonight mom and I are having Stone's chicken for dinner!!!! I haven't had that in well over a year...possibly longer than that, so that will be a nice treat. (anyone who grew up around here knows all about Stone's)

Dizziness + Meds + Sunshine + Work = Rainy Day Break

Well the title pretty much says it all...it has been an extremely hectic and stressful week around here! It started off with not feeling well/being dizzy all the time to going to the doctor and getting a pill that doesn't settle well with me, but that does take away the dizziness. Throw in a very nice, sunny Saturday where I worked for 9 hours....what do you get? A TIRED girl! Jenna and her friend, Fei-Fei, made a surprise stop after being in the Louisville area looking for Fei's new apartment. I unfortunately didn't get off work early enough to go have dinner with them at The Grub Co. :( By the time I did get home, I had to take my pill for the night and that pretty much puts me out of commission for the rest of the time.

We all woke up to a rainy Sunday, but managed to make it to Crossroads for some yummy breakfast! :) Jen & Fei headed off on another of their adventures...haha...and mom & I came home to rest. I believe I just heard the recliner leg rest flip out, so I'm guessing mom and Toby are napping! hahahaha I would love a nap, but for now I have office work I need to get caught up on! I hope to make this a productive day even though the rain makes it hard.

Good Drugs

For anyone who REALLY knows me, you know that I have an extremely high pain threshold and that it takes very little medicine to fix the problem! For example, when I have a severe headache/migraine...I take Children's Bayer Aspirin (dosage for a 2 year old) and within a 1/2 hour I feel fabulous! haha Seriously. Ask my family. :p

Today, I finally decided to get an appointment to go see a doctor about my dizziness since it was not going away. Dr. M told was mostly concerned about my blood pressure, which had me worried at first. I generally run on the low side, but today it was high and after they checked it THREE times, he said he was glad it was a little high because he would be worried about me fainting/passing out if it got too low. After checking my ears and running through all the symptoms, he decided that it is most likely a middle ear problem caused by allergies. Whew!

He gave me some meds, which used to be by prescription but are OTC now. I took the first pill as soon as I got it and although I'm still feeling some dizziness, it's not nearly as bad! He said the pills should work immediately and if not, I'd have to go to an ENT (ear-nose-throat specialist for you novices. haha I am well versed in ENT's after all my childhood problems.) He was thinking ENT because he could see the scarring left behind from having tubes twice when I was younger, at least he HOPED it was old scars.

For now I choose to believe I'm on the mend!! Hopefully after another dose tonight and a few tomorrow, I'll be as good as new! :)

Weeble Wobble

I am quite dizzy again today. It's frustrating trying to do anything! If I move too quickly, I feel like I'm gonna fall over....grrr. Hopefully this will get better SOON....

Just sitting here on the couch gives me a headache.

Seriously?

The past 2 days have been the kind of days where you just get on your knees and pray for things to get better!

Not only has the weather been absolutely crappy...anything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Yesterday I can't tell you how many times I cried over stupid stuff just because I couldn't take it! I was a mess last night!! ugh!

*My cell phone bit the dust when I tried to download the updated software.
*I was getting better from my sickness last week when all of a sudden my body decided to break down some more...EARACHE! (for anyone who knows how much trouble I had as a kid with my ears, this totally sucks...)

That's just a few of the highlights from my last few days. I've been dizzy/light-headed all day, so now I'm laying on the couch trying to enjoy American Idol and I can't even do that! argh!

Okay...enough of the gripe session.

Sick baby

My little baby, Toby, is sick today. I got up for work this morning and he seemed fine....when I got out of the shower though I went to check on him in the living room and he had puked more than once on the floor. *sad face* In an hour, he had gotten sick about 10 times, so at 8am my mom called the vet and they said he better come in. So mamaw took Toby to the vet this morning.....found out he was running a temperature as I thought (hard to tell when his average body temp is 104!), they gave him 3 shots - 1 to calm his stomach and 2 antibiotics, sent home more antibiotics with him, and took a fecal sample to test for worms. Apparently several dogs in the area have been sick with the same sort of symptoms...not sure what that is all about!?! One of the girls at the salon, Nicole, said her teacup poodle was sick the same way last night...I think she'll be taking her little one to the vet tomorrow morning on her day off!

I got home from work and he was pretty playful, although definitely worn out. After following me around for a bit, he decided to nap on me! (Notice how tired I appear to be as well! :p I'm exhausted and behind on everything right now...ugh! Sorry it's kinda blurry, I took it with my camera phone!!)

Alive again!!

I'm BACK!!!!! Well, I'm not completely healthy again, but I'm feeling much better than last week! It was actually a horrible ordeal...

The medicine I got from the doc ended up making me sick. We called the doc and he prescribed a new medicine for me Wednesday morning. I took it and it made me sick as well. I decided to quit taking the meds and started feeling much better! Go figure, huh? I have a lingering cough and my voice is still coming back...hopefully by the end of this week I'll be back to my old self!

I started working at the Golf Course this weekend...it is never dull, that's for sure! I am enjoying it and I'm looking forward to the rest of the summer. It's not what I thought I'd be doing at this point in my life, but I'm going to make the best of it. I mean, look at the bright side...I work in a male-dominated place...there are lots of single guys who come play golf with their other single friends! I'm thinking Win-Win at the moment...haha

El Sickey strikes!

Sorry for the lack of posts everyone! I have had that nasty cold that has been going around...I finally went to the doctor today only to be told what I already knew! ha He prescribed me a high dosage of amoxicillin and so hopefully I will be getting better soon, especially since doc only gave me 7 days worth of meds. I've been sleeping non-stop since Friday night in an effort to feel better, but it isn't working. At least I could sleep! Now the medicine is kicking in and I can't stop coughing or blowing my nose...I'm not convinced that I'm going to get any sleep tonight! Oh well, that is the update from my deathbed (it has felt like it anyway).

Go figure...I would get sick the week when I am supposed to be starting my second job!!
