The Deal of the Century

On Saturday, Eric and I dropped the girls off at their mom's house after they finished helping clean up at the fairgrounds. We went to town afterwards and had lunch. Eric wanted to run into Rural King before grocery shopping to pick up some weed killer. While he was in the store, I did what we all do... scrolled through Facebook. Haha
While I was scrolling, I came across a county garage sale posting (do you all belong to those groups on FB? Ugh... clutters my feed!) that I knew Eric would just HAVE to get. So, I messaged the girl and told her the dilemma, that we were shopping a few towns away and it would be almost 2 hours before we could get there, but could she PLEASE hold it for us. And she agreed! Woohoo!

So.... what did we get? And why was it the deal (maybe I should say steal) of the century?

That's right friends! We're the proud new owners of 3 (yes, three) weight benches plus a treadmill...

For the grand prize of $25!!!!!

Eric has been dying to get a Bowflex and that beaut on the right is a genuine bowflex. The one of the left cracks me up because my parents had the exact same weight bench in our basement while I was growing up. All the pieces for all 3 machines were included. When we got there, she asked if we wanted a treadmill she had and she threw it in for free. SCORE!

So, we hauled it home and unloaded it. Everything is currently in the barn until our new pole barn gets built, but for that price, we really couldn't resist the deal. One of my coworkers husband's was jealous and offered me double just for the Bowflex. Haha We are looking forward to having a little home gym to use in the somewhat near future (fingers crossed).

Fair Week

It's hard to believe that another fair week has come and gone. The girls had another good year... not as good as they had hoped, but you can't win it all! Ha Over all, we had a great week for weather and girls are already making plans for next year.

Stuck in a Holding Pattern

Well, I was hoping that my next post would be telling you that they were starting on our kitchen remodeling project....but that is not to be! :(

Tonight our contractor was supposed to come over and finalize everything to start tomorrow. Eric texted him tonight to confirm and he told us he has pushed the start date back to the end of next week. Womp, womp. We were waiting to find out when our cabinets would be in and he found out today that they won't be in until August 6th. Whaaaaaaat?!? So, despite all of Eric and Emma's hard work to get our spaces demo'd by tomorrow, we now have an additional week. Oh and did I mention that next week is our county fair week? Ha. Such is life.

We have no kitchen. The fridge and deep freezer are still plugged in, but we'll have to get those moved next week to the outdoor covered porch. I already warned everyone that the washer and dryer were not being moved until the new ones went in, so they'd have to work around them! ha I absolutely refuse to go to a laundromat, not that we even have many choices in small town Indiana.

So please keep your fingers crossed that we survive the next few weeks! hahaha

Appliances

One of the joys of remodeling has been NEW stuff. But don't get me wrong...it's also a pain sometimes, especially the cost related to those new things. During the entire process so far, the new stuff that I am most looking forward to are all our new appliances for the kitchen and utility room! :)

Here's what our newest items look like...they are ordered and will be delivered when the contractor is ready for them (sadly, most likely not for about a month yet). Why oh why can't everyone be on our time schedule?!? 

French door fridge, upright freezer, oven, over-the-range microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer - it's like a party at our house. haha
