The Mountie is mine!!

It is a true astonishing feat that I have actually managed to keep a vehicle for more than 2 years...I am always trading in and up! ha Almost 5 years ago, I decided that I need an SUV (wow what a bad decision!?!). So I bought a Mountaineer. I love my car, it has been good to me over the past few years, but it is certainly the longest I have ever kept a vehicle. Not only that, but today I found out that my car is officially mine!! Yep, the bank no longer can claim it because the loan has been PAID off! I have certainly never done that before! haha It feels so good to have made it all the way through the loan period...and to have it paid off a few months early!

I know this is a silly post, but I just had to celebrate! My car payments have loomed over me since I moved home...and thankfully I have great family and friends who see my value as an employee and keep me working (and in paychecks!)!!!!!! I'm excited to be able to save up that money and put it to better use!

And for all of you wondering...no, the Mountaineer will probably not sit in my driveway for years and years to come...but until I know exactly what car I want and have been able to save up for it, there won't be any new loan or lease payments! ha (Besides, just read an article this weekend said that even though gas prices are up, you will lose in the end if you buy a new vehicle...and it made a lot of sense! Plus I'm trying to be very money-smart and I don't want to immediately replace the payment I was making.)

Well, that's all for now! Hope everyone had a great weekend...and a belated Happy Mother's Day to all who are mommies! (My sister and I took our momma out to eat at one of our favorite local places for brunch and surprised her with a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory! She really wanted to go there, but I had to work this weekend so we made Jen come home.)

  1. Congrats on making the Mountie yours! That must be super exciting...we still have a few more years before finishing off our truck loan (and many, many, many years before paying off the house!!!)
