Giving Up

So this is going to be my "negative" vent of the week......

Today I have an attitude that can only be described as "I give up!" I'm over feeling like (& in essence being told) I'm not good enough....for the job, to be a girlfriend, for just about everything. I'm to the point where I feel like everything I thought I wanted and I thought God had put in my heart....that those things were all just my imagination. I am no closer to any of the things I wanted than I've ever been...possibly even further away than before.

So I'm just throwing in the towel...if it's meant to happen somehow it will. If not, well I won't be any more jaded than I am now.

Okay...done ranting. :p

The Countdown has begun!!!

I am so.....sooooooooooooooooo ready for vacation! ha I cannot begin to stress enough how much I need this short break. :p

How is it that I work that much harder to get everything prepared for being away? I normally put in approximately 55 hours a week...this week I'm on track for about 66 hours. What the heck!?! I don't think this vacation is long enough to full recharge myself from this week, but luckily I'll only have to wait another 45 days or so until the next trip! haha

It's almost bedtime...when I wake up...I will have 2.5 days of work to get through before we're off and running!!

After I get home from work Thursday night, mom and I will be heading to Indy. Hopefully I'll catch a few ZZZZZ's at Jen's place before we hit the road and head towards Wisconsin. We plan on stopping in Kenosha (some sort of cheese place - Mars, I think), then jetting over to good ol' Madison to see some Big Ten country, then down to New Glarus (the birthplace of beer such as the Spotted Cow, which Jen loves), and then FINALLY we'll be heading north again to the Dells. Thursday night/Friday morning can't get here fast enough!! Isn't that odd? Usually my week flies by....hmmm ;)

When Life is Good...It's Really Good!

On one hand, the above saying is so true...life is really good right now! On the other hand, it's good because I'm able to take some trips this year...BUT I can take those trips because I'm working 55-60 hours a week (the not so good part). Once again I'm starting to feel burnt out, but luckily the trips are coming up soon and will hopefully help keep me sane! ha
Next weekend at this time I will be in the Wisconsin Dells, enjoying some relaxation! :) Today, I purchased mine and Jenna's plane tickets for our New York trip at the end of September. I am so excited to be traveling to a new city with some great friends. Jenna, Jessica Geisler, Liz Record, and I will all be going to the Big Apple for the first time! We plan on painting the town red! hahaha Then of course, I just have to make it to November for the BIG trip to Australia, New Zealand, and China....

I am so blessed. I have a good job, I've paid off all my bills, and now I'm to the point where I can enjoy life! See....I knew my 27th year would be a good one! ;)

Playing Catch Up!

The past few weeks I feel like I've been spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere! Ugh. I've been a busy little bee...haven't put in less than 55 hours a week any week for the past month. Plus, at the beginning of each month I design a few newsletters for some Mary Kay Directors. I used to make a living doing that...but luckily, now I pick and choose! :) I have been beyond exhausted. To the point where I'm so tired, I can't even fall asleep!?! I believe there is a conspiracy to keep me from making it to my 8am alarm clock. haha Either Toby wakes me up, or an employee calls/texts, or I have to get up early for something every day. I haven't had an actual day off work since April. I'm really hoping that while I'm on vacation next weekend in Wisconsin NO ONE from the golf course bugs me! haha We'll see.....

Well, I better get moving. No rest for the weary! I have an eye appointment this afternoon in Greensburg. I already know what they'll tell me because its the same thing every time. haha (let's just say I am a bad kid...take my eyes for granted...don't do the things I should concerning my contacts) My left eye has been really hurting the past 24 hours though, so I'm hoping it's not an infection. It seems everytime I make a stupid eye appointment, I end up having a viral infection in one of my eyes. :(

I hope everyone is having a good week. We survived the 5.5"+ of rain yesterday without floating away!! ;)

Keep reading below for the other 2 posts I made today!! :p

A Great Teacher Passes On

This morning our community is saddened by the news that one of Jac-Cen-Del's best teachers passed away. Mr. Don Snedaker was found at his home this morning by his sister. I am unsure of any other details, but suffice it to say that everyone is in disbelief.

Lovingly called "Sned" by his students, he was quite the motivator. Sned was the type of teacher that always demanded more of his students, but didn't do it in a harsh way...everyone WANTED to do their best for him. I cannot remember a time when I didn't know him. He went to high school with my Uncle Owen and was close with a few of my cousins who were also elementary teachers at JCD. Jenna and I spent many evenings in their classrooms after school until mom got off work and Sned was always part of the "after school" crowd! ha

Next week will be tough for the school system. Please keep JCD, especially the elementary, in your prayers.

Glow in the Dark Fun

Last weekend, the golf course hosted (ahem, I should say "I" hosted) a Moonlight Golf event. Each player wears a glow-in-the-dark necklace, gets a special golf ball that you insert a glow stick in, all the flags have glow sticks on them, the holes have glow bracelets in them, and there are glow stakes marking every 150 yards along the fairways. We had 13 pairs come out and play, mostly husband and wife teams. The group had a BLAST! Of course, we started almost an hour late because half the players were having a pre-party at one of their houses. It took us 2 hours extra to play and by then, all but 5 teams gave up and went home. ha Not that I blame them, but I was EXHAUSTED. I worked 18.5 hours total before going home to get 4 hours of sleep and working another 8 hour shift that afternoon. Even the boss man got cranky (yes, men are often more trouble) and went home....much to my dismay since he didn't even tell me!?! :( Luckily, mom and Tosha were there helping me, so it was a fast cleanup. Jesse doesn't ever want to do night golf again...but I have to say, even with the long hours...I know EXACTLY what to do next time for a better evening! ha I plan on another event with even more people next year!!

Here's a few pictures of the night...

listening to the rules

the glow sticks looked cool around the course

time to hit up the beer cart...ha

all night it looked like floating orbs were walking around

teeing off

Matty and his beer "cooler"

waiting for Heather to chip the ball

I know some of the pictures are hard to make out, but if you know what's going on, you can generally make it out pretty well. I wish there was a better way to capture everything. The glow sticks light up so well...but the minute you go to take a picture, the camera can't find anything to focus on! :p
